Paul Rudd, 54, Finally Reveals the Secret Behind His Superhuman Youth

Is Paul Rudd a vampire? Once the Ant-Man star turned 50, he raised many suspicions online as to why he didn’t seem to age. A deep dive into his past photos revealed that, indeed, Rudd hasn’t aged a day in several decades. So what really hides behind his ageless appearance? The actor has finally answered this question and more.

He is a notoriously “ageless” celebrity.

We’re not sure how this trend started, but the Internet has, at one point, caught on to the fact that Paul Rudd doesn’t seem to age. Perhaps, the first suspicions started when the actor turned 50 and showed no signs of aging. Considering that his career started in the early 1990s, we have enough photographic evidence to see barely any changes in Rudd’s appearance, and it’s been decades.

People on Twitter have long been raising their “concerns” over the Ant-Man star’s boyish good looks, and we fully support them.

Suffice to say, we’re all coming from a place of jealousy. But, perhaps, we should use this as an opportunity to learn and adopt Rudd’s secrets? Let’s learn more about them.

He likes to joke on the topic a lot.

A few years ago, Paul caught onto jokes about his youthful appearance and took it as an opportunity to demonstrate his humorous chops. During a Clueless reunion in 2019, Rudd was, of course asked about how does he still look as young as he did in 1995, when the movie released. He then proceeded to make the audience laugh: “I’m 80 years old on the inside. In here, pure darkness — and a little moisturizer.”

Fast-forward to 2021, when the actor was promoting Ghostbusters: Afterlife and talked about how much he loved the original movie as a kid. This gave the interviewer an opening to inquire about how Rudd manages to still look like that same kid. He jokingly replied: “This is all done with smoke and mirrors. I’m a hologram.”

His secret is ridiculously simple.

Finally, in 2023, Rudd agreed to an interview with Men’s Health, who were on a mission to find out all about the actor’s trickery. So they asked what was he doing that was so effective for his youth, his superhero body, his happiness, and so on. Paul had just one word for all of those amazing achievements: “Sleep.”

Rudd proceeded to elaborate: “The most important part of training is sleep… Then diet. Then weights. Then cardio.” He says that eight hours of sleep is essential to him on a daily basis, and he doesn’t understand how people manage to work and train after sleeping only four hours or so. And, in terms of diet, the MCU star makes sure to eat plenty of protein every day, like eggs, salmon, and various shakes.

But he works hard to maintain a “superhero” status.

The 54-year-old actor also got candid about the fact that he sometimes feels not as fit as the rest of his superhero colleagues, regardless of how much effort he puts into training. When preparing for Ant-Man: Quantumania, he realized that his age started taking its toll, and it was harder for him to get into good shape compared to original Ant-Man, which was released 8 years prior.

Rudd revealed that the entire process made him “irritable and self-conscious”. He said: “I could work out hard and eat perfectly, and I’ll still look worse than most of the other Avengers.” But, ultimately, he realized that working out consistently was making him feel good and, once he settled into a routine, he started seeing results that were making him quite happy.

Another movie star that got candid about struggles with self-image is Twilight actor Taylor Lautner. He detailed his experience with unrealistic expectations he encountered while filming the famous movie series, and you can read all about it here.
