Gervonta Davis and Terence Crawford Clash Online Over Boxing and Money
Gervonta Davis and Terence Crawford are going back and forth on social media about a situation that seemingly stems from not being invited to an event.
It all started with The Ring magazine’s award ceremony, which brought today’s top boxers to London this past weekend. The who’s who of the boxing world was there — all except for Davis, who allegedly isn’t on good terms with the organizers of Riyadh Season events and Sheikh Turki Alalshikh, who is also an owner of The Ring.
Davis was, understandably, upset that he wasn’t able to go — so he posted about his frustration on X in a series of tweets slamming the organizers and the attendees that have since been deleted.
Coming out of the blue to taunt him about the situation, Crawford made it clear exactly who he was talking to with a very direct subliminal message.
“I see somebody mad they wasn’t invited to the @ringmagazinegala, wrote Crawford with a laughing emoji. Afterwards, he explained that he remembers not being invited too — but by that time, the wheels were already in motion, which prompted Davis to respond.
“And I still make more than you,” responded Davis by quoting his post. “Yalll think he chasing greatness.he’s not that’s what he have to do to make decent money..fuck boys,” he continued in another post.
Crawford clapped back with a long message calling Davis stupid. “First thing a dumb rich person say to another rich person is I got more money than you! I bet you I own more investments than you and I don’t owe a dollar in taxes,” he wrote. “You can’t buy nothing I can’t buy that I want, and that’s a fact. Let’s see who money last the longest smart guy.”
Crawford’s disrespect didn’t stop. “By the way little guy, don’t speak too son because you definitely not making more than me fight who’s been fighting,” he wrote. “That’s why you talking about fighting Ryan again.”
To prove his point, Crawford reposted a message about his fight earnings from Mike Coppinger who made a post about the difference between his earnings and Davis’ earnings.
“Outside of the Ryan Garcia fight, Terence Crawford has earned multiples more than Gervonta Davis for his bouts with Madrimov and Spence compared to Tank’s bouts with Frank Martin, Hector Luis Garcia, and the upcoming bout with Roach,” he tweeted.
Their war continues on — at least on Davis’ side who has shared a couple of posts criticizing Crawford but has been deleting them soon after sharing.
